How to resize an image
Drop in your image, type the width or height you need, and download. With the aspect ratio locked, setting one side fills in the other so nothing looks squashed. Need an exact box — say a 512×512 icon or a 1200×630 social card? Unlock the ratio and set both.
Pick the right export format
Keep the original format, or convert on the way out. PNG preserves transparency and stays crisp for UI and logos; JPG trades transparency for a smaller photo file; WebP gives you the best of both at a smaller size. For JPG and WebP you can dial the quality to balance sharpness against file size.
Resizing for app icons or favicons
If you’re prepping a single app icon or favicon, the dedicated favicon generator does the whole size set for you in one download. Use the resizer when you just need one image at a specific dimension.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Scaling down is clean — you're throwing away pixels you didn't need. Scaling up can't invent detail, so a small source enlarged will look soft. For the sharpest results, start from the largest version you have.
How do I keep the proportions?
Leave 'Lock aspect ratio' on (the default). Type one dimension and the other follows automatically. Turn it off when you want to stretch to an exact, non-proportional size.
PNG, JPG, or WebP — which should I pick?
PNG for anything with transparency or hard edges like logos and icons. JPG for photos where a smaller file matters. WebP for the best size-to-quality balance on the modern web. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled white.
Is there a file size or count limit?
No limits and no queue. Everything happens locally in your browser, so your images are never sent to a server.
Need the icon itself, not just the sizing?
IconsCove generates original icons from a text prompt. Describe what you want, pick a style and colors, and download it — then run it back through this tool.
